Atlas Translations Yarnbomb Spreads Joy This Christmas

Atlas Translations’ director Clare Suttie has been yarnbombing for charity once again. This year the joy spreads beyond Hertfordshire to a Budleigh Salterton Yarnbomb in Devon. Clare and a team of creative crochet enthusiasts have been yarnbombing postboxes since 2018 and this year Clare has even been joined by anonymous yarnbomber ‘Knitsy’.

The festive postbox toppers bring joy and raise smiles but they also raise money for charity. In Budleigh Salterton there are four yarnbombed postboxes and a Knitsy bollard to discover and supporters can donate to raise money for Hospiscare and Devon Mind. You can even read all about the initiative in the Exmouth Journal. At the time of writing, the woolly wonders have already raised over £1000 and there is still plenty of time to donate if you click here.

St Albans Postboxes Snowman

St Albans Yarnbomb

This year’s St Albans Postboxes campaign is as popular as ever with walkers and runners, despite the area being placed into Tier 4 before Christmas. The crocheted creations are so popular that the fundraising target has been raised to an incredible £20,000. There are a fantastic 50 postbox toppers to find throughout St Albans District. Hunting for postbox toppers is an excellent socially-distanced activity to get you out of the house when so much is cancelled due to Covid-19 measures. You can read more about St Albans Postboxes in the Herts Advertiser. This year the St Albans Postboxes are raising money for St Albans & District Foodbank and Open Door St Albans, two charities working harder than ever this year, in challenging circumstances.
