Children’s Society Brew and Bake week
At Atlas we are keen to do our bit for charity and when we heard about The Children’s Society Brew and Bake week we couldn’t wait to join in – it does after all combine our two favourite things – tea and cakes!
The Children’s Society are a children’s charity who help children at risk on the streets, disabled children, young refugees, young carers or those within the youth justice system. They seek to influence child protection policy and perceptions at all levels so young people have a better chance in life.
The idea behind the Brew and Bake week was to organise a coffee morning and raise money through donations. We decided to take part in a slightly different way and decided we would make a donation and that a different member of the Atlas team should bake their own cakes so we had a different one each day – luckily for us we are all pretty good at baking! Some of the delights included Gabi’s caramel and strawberry roulade, Sian’s raspberry elderflower cake and Jim’s ginger loaf cake (made by his talented wife!). We all really enjoyed the week and look forward to our next charity challenge! If you know of any forth coming charity events that you think we should take part in please get in touch!
