IgnITIon – ITI Student Bulletin
As an established translation agency (since 1991!) we have always had lots of enquiries from:
Students
Teachers
People wanting a career change
Translators and interpreters starting out
We refer translators and interpreters at any point in their career to the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (known as ITI). We have been corporate members of ITI since 1994. ITI offer support, local groups, specialist groups, CPD, online courses, and are an absolute mine of information.
Being MITI, and AITI gives translators and interpreters a recognised, professional status in the industry. But ITI also cater for “newbies” and students – which is why in Spring this year they launched a new, free publication – IgnITIon.
You can get a copy of the latest issue of IgnITIon is here.
It contains lots of useful insights, hints and tips from others who are also starting out on diverse topics including networking, gaining a work placement, second careers, getting your first job, acquiring experience.
IgnITIon also carries a news section and a useful resource listing which includes sources of information on careers and job vacancies.
- We don’t think there’s any other publication out there to help students interested in translation. If you like it, let ITI know – and you can even offer to write an article for their next issue!
