Lotus throwing festival in Bang Phil
One of our translators went to see the Lotus throwing festival last year and came back raving about it! Apparently it essential to put onto your bucket list.
In September/October every year a festival called ‘Rub Bua’ takes place. It is the Lotus flower festival which takes place in Bang Phli in Samut Prakan, Thailand.
This is a tradition that has been handed down for generations. Locals line the banks of the river Klong Samrong and throw the beautiful lotus flowers onto a boat that carries the statue of Buddha.
The festival is held annually one day before the end of the Buddhist Rain Retreat (Buddist Lent).
