My work placement with Atlas – Magda Jakubowska

The year is almost over, so is the work placement of Magda Jakubowska at Atlas Translations. I can’t believe how fast these five months have passed. It feels like my very first day in the office was yesterday. I can clearly remember meeting the team for the first time and dealing with my very first Atlas duties. Initially I was a bit insecure about some of them, but as the weeks passed, it all became easier and I really enjoyed doing my job.

To be honest, coming to St Albans was not my dream scenario, as I really wanted to live in London. Now I have to admit that St Albans is a great place to live and I really enjoyed the time I spent here. It is so much different from Polish cities and I will definitely miss the atmosphere of St Albans. And having London within my reach, I could visit it many times during my stay in the UK. I definitely love London and I hope to go back there as soon as I can.

I will also miss people I met here, especially Jim! It was really great to be a part of such a lovely team. Doing my placement while being surrounded by all these friendly and kind people was a wonderful experience and I am sure every new placement at Atlas will have the same feeling.

I will hopefully come and visit Atlas one day and drink more Guinness with the whole Team.
