Subtitling Services: Say It Loud (and Clear) Across Every Language

You’ve got a story to tell. A message to share. A product to promote. But if your video content only lands with one segment of your audience, you’re missing out. Subtitling is more than just words on a screen—it’s a powerful tool for accessibility, inclusivity, and international reach.

Whether you’re trying to crack new markets, connect with multilingual customers, or make your content scroll-stopping on social media, subtitles can help you get there.

At Atlas Translations, we provide professional subtitling services that do more than translate. We make your message land—accurately and with the cultural awareness it deserves.

Call us on +44 (0)1727 812 725 or email us at team@atlas-translations.co.uk to let us know what you need. We respond quickly to all enquiries!

What Is Subtitling, Anyway?

In simple terms, subtitling means putting written text on the screen to match the spoken dialogue. It’s often a translation of what’s being said—think foreign films, Netflix marathons, or that 2am Turkish drama you swore you’d only watch one episode of…👀

Unlike closed captions (which transcribe the original audio in the same language for hearing-challenged viewers), subtitles are there to bridge the language gap between the speaker and the viewer.

There are also open captions, which are ‘burned in’ and can’t be turned off—no matter how many times you click the CC button, trust us on this one.

So, while captions and subtitles do similar jobs, they play slightly different roles in accessibility and international communication.

Why Subtitling Matters for Global Communication

The internet doesn’t care about borders, and neither should your content.

Subtitling services are a must-have in the modern communication toolkit. They make your content understandable to people who don’t speak the original language. They also support accessibility, improve clarity, and strengthen your brand’s global appeal.

Where are subtitles being used?

  • Entertainment (films, TV, streaming)
  • E-learning and training modules
  • Corporate videos and internal comms
  • Medical and legal transcripts
  • Marketing and promotional content

And yes, even your short TikTok videos can benefit. In fact…

Let’s Talk Subtitling Services and Social Media

Subtitles on social? Absolute game-changer.

Most videos on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn are watched without sound. If your content isn’t subtitled, you’re waving goodbye to a huge portion of your audience before they even get the gist.

With subtitles:

  • Engagement increases
  • View time improves
  • Your content becomes more searchable
  • Accessibility gets a serious boost

Want organic reach? Subtitles help you show up—and stand out.

🧏 Subtitling Meets Closed Captioning

Our closed captioning services cater to deaf, partially deaf, and hearing-problem audiences and follow accessibility standards where needed. We can supply open or closed captions, depending on your project and platform.

Whether you’re working on public sector material, an indie film, or corporate training, we’ll help you meet your inclusivity goals—while still sounding like you.

In Which Sectors Do You Offer Subtitling Services?

Subtitling isn’t one-size-fits-all—and we don’t treat it that way.

Our team includes experts who understand the unique jargon, regulations, and tone required across different industries. We provide sector-specific subtitling that’s clear, correct, and context-aware.

🛠️ Sector-Specific Experience

We’ve worked across:

  • Media and Entertainment
  • Legal and Law
  • Medical and Healthcare
  • Corporate and internal communications and events
  • Marketing and public-facing campaigns

And yes, we’ve even transcribed police interviews and jury trials!

🧠 Smart Transcription

Need an SRT file? Voiceover script? Multilingual subtitles with sector lingo baked in? We’ve got the tools and the know-how to get it done—accurately, efficiently, and professionally.

We’re happy to follow any specific style preferences regarding CPS, FPS, forced narratives, etc., but otherwise, we follow the Netflix style guide.

What Are the Benefits of Subtitling Services?

Subtitling doesn’t just tick boxes. It opens doors to wider audiences, greater accessibility, and stronger storytelling.
