Top five tips for Freelancers submitting invoices to Atlas Translations
The best part of a freelancer’s job can be when they get paid for all their hard work. So we asked Carol, our Accounts Manager who is responsible for making these very important payments, to give us the benefit of her wisdom when it comes to doing whatever you can to get paid on time.
Just send one invoice a month listing all the jobs you have done. Multiple invoices can cause problems and create so much paper. Make sure all your details are on it too – including your name, address, full contact details and any VAT number.
Submit your invoice in good time – for Atlas Translations that means at the end of every month you work for us. Do not wait three months and then demand immediate payment.
Give your invoice a number, and date it for easy trackability.
If you have to chase payment, always be polite. The person at the other end will be trying to help you sort things out – well, that’s certainly the case at Atlas Translations. Ensure you clearly state what method of payment you prefer: For Atlas, we offer payment by BACS, Moneybookers, American Express, Paypal and cheque. You’d be amazed how many people do not say how they’d prefer to be paid.
