Clare’s review of my CV was incredibly helpful, thorough, and added a lot of value to it. She also gave a good look at my LinkedIn profile and website, pointing out their strengths and weaknesses, from the point of view of an experienced professional who runs a successful LSP. And she did all that while raising funds for the Fairlynch Museum! I am very grateful for Clare’s comments and a huge admirer of the work she does helping translators and her community. Thank you, Clare!

Claudia Torres (feedback for Clare – CV Clinic)

Clare recently reviewed my CV, LinkedIn profile and website as part of her CV clinic. I found the whole experience really useful. Her encouragement and personalised feedback made me feel much more confident about my CV and applying to agencies. It was great to find out exactly what translation agencies are looking for from an experienced agency director. She also answered questions about other aspects of the translation industry from the agency perspective and created a safe space where I could ask anything. She even took another look at my CV once I’d made the changes. And all she asked for in exchange was a charity donation!

I was impressed by Clare’s enthusiasm for the language services industry. It is clear that she is experienced and knowledgeable, whilst friendly, genuine and approachable, and it is lovely that she is happy to go out of her way to help others succeed. It was a pleasure to work with Clare.

Olivia Morton

What a difference a conversation with the right person can make! Clare offered a CV review but our hour long session resulted in so much more than an improved CV. She selflessly offered her insight into the translation industry which she clearly knows inside out. What I find wonderful is that Clare genuinely cares about the freelancers who work for Atlas Translations. I felt stuck before our chat. I felt that I have achieved what I could on my own, relying solely on my abilities and resourcefulness. However, without having a mentor or anyone who would have been willing to advise, I was unable to take my career to the next level. The suggestions and information received gave me enough motivation and direction to start anew. I feel way more confident now to refuse what is not in line with my values and go for what I do believe in.

Clare is an excellent Director who enjoys sharing her solid knowledge of language project management. Not afraid to empower employees while giving them appropriate support, the success of Atlas is also due to well-oiled processes which keep being adapted to the latest technology available and the market needs but also maintaining good relationships with numerous freelancers.

Are you working as a translator or in some other role within the translation and languages industry? Are you feeling a bit directionless and could use an experienced set of eyes on your CV? Have you heard of Clare’s CV Clinic?

Over the years, Atlas Director Clare Suttie saw that many in the translation industry were incredibly interested in getting advice and insight on their CV. Whether they were working in-house with a company or striking out on their own as a freelancer, the people spoke, and Clare answered.

“It was so lovely to chat to you this morning. You clearly put so much time into researching my online profiles and CV – I’m so grateful. I’m also very grateful for your expertise and encouragement. I feel like I have a great starting point to improve my online presence and CV and feel much more confident about approaching potential clients. I feel very lucky to have spoken to you today – it’s an amazing service that you offer.”

What Kind of Help Do You Need?

First impressions do count, and you want your CV to be eye-catching and persuasive to potential clients.

We know that you want to spend your working time doing what you do best: translating.

So, Clare is here to help you get your CV off your to-do list once and for all.

The Process

Before you meet online, Clare will review your CV, your LinkedIn profile and your website (if you have one). From that point, Clare will make lots of lovely in-depth notes, observations, and suggestions.

When it’s time to meet online, Clare will walk you through her notes, and you can take the time to talk about your plans, how things are going, or what you’d like to change in your working or business role.

No topic is off limits (within reason), but Clare does draw the line at Algebra. Fair enough.

Your CV will be in the very capable hands of someone who has been in the translation industry since 1991. At the end of the session, you’ll leave with immediate action notes and suggestions that will result in a polished, updated CV you can be proud of.
